NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) Administration
A nominee account is for clients at NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) for use with daily expenses. The administration solution is only offered to municipalities that have DNB as their main bank.
Who is it suitable for?
A nominee account is for clients under administration by municipal NAV offices. To open a nominee account, NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) must enter into an agreement with the bank, and the account ownership belongs to NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration). Access to the account is restricted to NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) through their online banking. NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) only administers the clients' daily expenses in accordance with specific powers of attorney from the client or decisions.
Tips and Advice
- If the client has substantial funds, these should be managed by a guardian/county governor
- The Norwegian Debt Collection Agency (SI) can register a lien on a nominee account. Nav (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) must contact SI by email if they have questions about pledged amounts
- Nav (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) can register AvtaleGiro and payment instructions in the corporate online bank
- Fixed assignments are registered by Nav (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) in the corporate online bank under "Recurring payment"
- Nav (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) is responsible for ensuring there are sufficient funds to cover payments that fall due. If there are insufficient funds at the due date, Nav (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) must delete the payment(s) or change the due date. A fee will be charged in the event of insufficient funds
