To tap to pay without opening Vipps, you must select Vipps as your default payment app in your mobile phone settings.
iPhone:
Double-click the side button. Hold your phone near the card terminal. Tap with Vipps!Android:

Tips
Remember that you must have turned on lightning-fast tap to pay. If you haven't done so, you can still tap to pay with Vipps, but you'll need to open Vipps first.
Frequently asked questions about tapping
Yes, you keep all the benefits linked to your card when you pay with Vipps, such as discounts, insurance and rewards programmes. Vipps functions as a digital version of your card, and payments are registered in the same way as if you had used it physically.
It is also possible to add loyalty cards directly in the app, so that they can be scanned at the checkout without having to open other apps.
How to add loyalty cards in Vipps:
- Open the Vipps app and tap on Me.
- Tap on Add under Loyalty cards.
- Select the shop you want to add and follow the steps to complete.
Tapping is paying contactlessly with a bank card or mobile. You have probably seen it already: Someone placing their bank card or mobile next to a card terminal.
Yes, tapping now works on all terminals where your physical bank card works. Remember that you must activate your card again if you have activated tapping before.

Children under 15 years old must have a Vipps profile with a registered bank card and consent from both parents to tap. This feature must be activated by both parents – and is not a default setting in the app.
Turning on lightning-fast tapping means you can tap with Vipps without opening Vipps. Here's how:
1. Open Vipps and tap 'Me' at the bottom right
2. Tap 'Turn on lightning-fast tapping'
3. Follow the steps and there you go, you're ready!

- Vipps for those under 15 years is in practice linked to the parents' own Vipps and parents have full control over their child's Vipps usage
- Parents can monitor their children's transactions from their own Vipps. They can see who they send and receive money to, and what is written in the chat. If the child has activated tapping, parents can also see the child's card transactions.
- Parents can easily turn functions on and off in their child's Vipps: Tap in the shop, Vipps friends and view their own balance.
- Vipps monitors transactions, and if Vipps detects suspicious transactions, they will notify the parents directly. However, it will always be parents who know their children best and Vipps advises parents to make it a routine to go through the history in Vipps together with their children at least once a month.
