Here we present trading data from DNB’s equity trading service every month.

Energy and defence shares mostly traded in April

Our trading data for April shows that in terms of the number of transactions, Vår Energi was the most traded share in April by a narrow margin ahead of Kongsberg Gruppen. In the next few places, we will also find the energy shares Aker BP and Equinor. The lists are characterised by finance, technology, shipping and aviation. Energy and financial shares are most commonly bought, while defence shares now seem to be more sold than bought in our equity trading service.

In terms of international trade, the technology company Nvidia is at the top, ahead of the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. This list is otherwise characterised by the defence shares Saab and Rheinmetall, as well as the major American tech companies Tesla, Apple and Palantir.

All numbers are based on trading activity performed in the last month via both DNB’s equity trading service online and in the Spare app. The top lists are sorted either based on the number of transactions (buy and sell), net volume (the total amount bought minus the total amount sold), or gross volume (the total amount bought and sold).
